I love food. I used to be able to eat anything that I wanted to without gaining weight when I was a loader. When you do 40-70 hours of cardio a week, you better be able to eat anything you see. Now that I only exercise 20 hours a week, I’ve had to cut back on the late night all-you-can-eat sushi every week.
Even though I go to all-you-can-eat is less frequently, I am still gaining weight. I’m not near being fat, but I am getting some chub :D My long lost brother that I used to have in my MMO days.

Anyway, one of the projects that I am planning for nattsumi.ca is the Life Project. I will research health related topics and post the Coles-notes. For now, I only have two topics: sun screen, and calories. If you have other topics, toss me an e-mail and I’ll see what I can do.

I’m in the midst of gathering data for the calories article. I’m not too sure what I will do after I become more knowledgeable. But until I get all the figures worked out, I will continue on with my eating frenzy.

On a side note: I think my TV dinner thawed out and refrozen during delivery, because I don’t think my brownie is supposed to be in my gravy.

On Saturday morning, Facebook allowed users to claim their own domain name ( facebook.com/username ).

There are a few rules though: only one domain per account activated after June 9th, cannot get trademarked names, like Nike or Microsoft, and you only get to choose once. Choose wisely.

Have you registered your Facebook domain yet?

A few days ago, I noticed some oddities with my computer: My computer ran really slow at times and I couldn’t delete certain files. I just ignored the signs and continued on my with my ways.
One day, before I went to pick up Michelle, I decided that my computer needed to be shut down. I wasn’t downloading anything and my Rappelz character already had full stamina. So I figured, I might as well give my computer a rest.
When I got back and turned my computer on, I was in for a surprise. While booting up, I got the infamous “NTLDR is missing” message. I didn’t think much of it, because I’ve gotten them before. I tried to use the Windows repair feature, but that failed. I then tried to install Windows on a different partition, but on the same drive. Windows booted up once, then crashed.
In my experience, the only two things that stop working are your hard drive or your power supply. My computer turned on, so I assumed my hard drive had crashed.
Since the drive that crashed was my main drive (Seagate) and I never back up important files, I was pretty much screwed. All the important files were on my main drive: resume, account information, and my /b/ folder.
I asked around and found out that you can still retrieve files off a hard drive that crashes. So I looked up the information and downloaded the appropriate applications. For some reason the drive didn’t read on my computer so I had to toss it on my other desktop.
If there is one negative of having your computer professionally put together, is that they don’t take any short cuts. Look at how many screws I didn’t need:

Taking out the drive took about 20 minutes, no joke. I was sweating afterward. Anyway, since I am lazy and I didn’t want to properly mount the drive in the other computer, I improvised.

Ahh, what greatness. I eventually got the files that I needed off my old drive. I’m awaiting for the package from Seagate to get my replacement drive.
Thankfully, the replacement process is hassle-free.

My attempt at adding avatars was a total fail. I apologize.
Not sure on what benefits you get for registering, but I’ll try to make it worth while in the future.
Previous Works page has been redone. Hopefully, the About page will be by next week.

Moving is a risky business. At that place where I live, you have to give 30 days notice before moving. Most places only advertise for the following month, so less than 30 days. Meaning, unless you found a place that is vacant two months in advance, you have to give your notice before you even have secured a place to live.
To break it down to dates, I gave my landlord a 60 day notice at the start of May. I then had to look for a place in July. The majority of ads are for June.
I wanted to find a place as soon as possible because if we couldn’t find a place by June we could still change our minds and cancel our notice; so I started looking in May. By the end of May, I had only found and checked out three places. Thankfully, the third place was adequate.

Had I not found a place, I would not have been able to cancel my notice and there would be more pressure to find a new place. Though there are more opportunities for finding a place for the following month. Most places have 6 month or 1 year leases; so if you don’t like your place, you’re screwed for a decent amount of time.
Job searching is so much easier. You don’t need to give your notice at your current workplace to do interviews for another job. If you do happen to get the job, you can arrange the best possible time do the switch. Very low risk involved.

Aside from all that mishmash, I can’t wait to move! The place is being renovated as we speak; so we get new everything with the exception of the bathtub.
We’ll even live on the first floor so I can finally turn up my bass. The suite is also very cool, unlike our current suite. On a hot day, I can’t even play on the computer. I can only lay in bed in front of the air conditioner.

On the down side, we can be easily robbed. The only obstacle separating thieves from thousands of dollars of electronics is glass. I wonder if I should get some insurance.

I plan to buy a home in about 5 years. I’m trying to save approximately $10,000 each year for a total of $50,000. Michelle says she’ll try to save about $40,000 in the same amount of time. With a combined amount of $90,000 for our down-payment, we’ll save about $53,000 in interest.
The saying, “a penny saved is a penny earned” is an understatement. A penny saved is about 1.5 cents earned in a mortgage scenario. So I figured, if every penny counts, I gotta try to save as much as possible.
I am not going to the extreme of saving every penny, but I do constantly remind myself that I need to spend less. So I’ve been looking for alternatives to what I’m already doing.
One of the alternatives, is online gaming. I canceled my Warhammer accounts a few months ago. I calculated the cost of each account to be $1200 ($20CDN*12*5). I generally play with two accounts because I am an efficiency freak. So realistically, that is about $2400.
Ever since I canceled my Warhammer accounts, I’ve been looking for free online games. An awesome game which I’m waiting on is called “Dragon’s Nest.”
Closed Beta just ended and I hope Open Beta starts up soon. An English version is set to launch some time this year as well.
There is also similar game but more graphical. I believe Open Beta starts in August ’09.
Back to saving money. I don’t know if I can go five years playing free MMOs. FFXIV was announced at E3 and I wanna play that game so damn bad. I played FFXI for 3 years non-stop.
Rumor also has it that Blizzard will be charging for Battle.net once Star Craft II and Diablo III come out.
Big titles are coming out. I don’t know if I can manage the urge.

Here are a few tracks I’ve been listening to over and over for the past week:
Ami Suzuki -- Reincarnation (Download)
This track relaxes my whole brain. The beat is simple, yet infectious. So infectious that I zone out the vocals and just listen to the beats. A wonderful track to lull your mind.
After School -- Diva (Download)
Catchy chorus with high energy throughout. Short and sweet -repeat x20 for me.
Big Bang -- Oh My Friend (Download)
A very strange track coming from Big Bang. Actually, their whole Stand Up single was easy to listen to. Not hardcore beats or techno tracks. All I can say is strange.

Damn, I’m so excited to finally have a medium to be able to express myself again. Twitter or FaceBook wasn’t cutting it for me. I was thinking about going back to LiveJournal, but Kenny suggested WordPress.
Thank you very much Kenny -this script rocks.
Anyway, the website is still a work-in-progress but I wanted to switch over to the new version as soon as it was presentable. The old Twitter page was just a temporary page until I dropped the MMO playing and found some motivation to work on what you see today.
I hope everyone enjoys the nattsumi.ca version 13.

I have plenty of idea for posts, but I’m trying to get the visuals out of the way first. Should be able to work out most of the graphics by tomorrow. Time for some sleep ><
